After 30 years we have closed the gates, there has been so much red tap and changes in the law which has made it very hard to carry on with the show.
We would like to say a big thanks for the continued support from our exhibitors and visitors through the years, it has all made it worth while
The History of Our Show
The show started by me (Jamie) and my mum Jill, about 30 years ago and was called Horton Farm Vintage Weekend, and was in a field at the back of Chartham,
while at the site, we had to cancel the show due to foot and mouth, then the show
carried on, Sharon joined us, then we had to move due to the farm being reposed
and we had to move to Merton Farm.
We moved to Merton Farm and also had to change the name of the show, after a few
years mum passed away in the April but we carried on with the show that year (she
would have wanted that), after a few years the farmer wanted us to move out of the
farm to much small fields down the road and change it to a two day show, so we
decided to move to Faversham Showground, which was the best thing we ever did.
We had many successful years at Faversham Showground, even when ‘Covid’ hit
we changed to the September that year, but unfortunately the farmer there got into
money problems/huge tax bill, sold part of the land for the Crematorium, but didn’t
read the small print, which basically left them with legal access to showground only
at night, we had no choice and only a couple of months to find somewhere else to
hold the show in 2025 which was opposite Spires Academy.
